There's no interior paint showing when the doors are shut.
Unless BRG paint was totally messed up, I wouldn't repaint in OE White, much as I do like OE white. If you don't ever intend selling the car, you might save money by doing an outside paint job. But as a buyer, I'd rather have an all over White Gold in well maintained nick than a half painted OEW one. And that Merc looks revolting - brash and brassy especially with disgusting black wheels. They always remind me of the cheapest toy cars Woolworths used to sell, with the clip-in one piece wheels-and-axles. Especially if it's a pre-facelift with all the extra chrome, I reckon the 75 looks best in strong or dark colours that set off the chrome. |

Thanks for the feedback. Maybe this is a bad idea I'm thinking.
Two questions. Would it be worth trying to make the paintwork standout out a little more with a deep clean? I've never used anything like T-cut so nervous of this. That gold wrap looks awful. However I've seen wrapping done on an old episode of Wheeler Dealers. Does anyone have a good experience of it and how much is it? |

A full machine polish and detail will bring the paintwork up a treat.

Google and search in YouTube " plastidip spray car". Funny and temporary cheap way of colour change. Ugly but also very decent and nice results, depending your taste. Cheap, and if you do not like it anymore, easy to remove.

Yup, agree 100% with Trikey. Member Nobby has a White Gold tourer which he keeps in A1 condition. The paintwork looks amazing and really "pops". I had never really liked White Gold 'till I saw his car and realised just how it good it can look. If you lack the confidence and tools to do the job yourself, look for a detailer locally and get the paintwork clayed, machine polished, and protected. You'll be amazed at the improvement. Cheaper than a respray too . Cliff

Just out of interest with the wraps ( I'm not thinking of doing it) doesn't the vinyl get nicks and scratches from stone chips etc and start looking as if someone has scratched a bit up with their nail or something? Or is it extra tough and doesn't mark at all? |

Give Karl Hooley of Devils Detailing a bell. He gave my Sunspot ZT a Ceramic Coating. I can pm you his number if interested.

There is a dent on the rear door of the merc, if that was done after it was wrapped then it is pretty tough stuff! If it was wrapped with the dent already there then someone wants a slap 🤣

Dorchester Red would be a good choice and match the interior.
My first 75 was that colour and people admired it a lot, and I receive many compliments on how good the car looked. |
