Checked out the light switch and connections; all appear in fine condition and no matter how I jiggled things around, it made no difference. Next step is to try to check the wiring from the fuse box to the multiplug.
There are no wires crossing sharp metal behind the lighting unit. I may have to run a wire from the other side light to power the unlit bulb. Last edited by planenut; 25th January 2020 at 08:53.. |

Could not solve this, and could not set up another wire, so all back together again. Certainly had a problem identifying the wires as the colours don't seem to match. Will have another go soon. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

With the bumper off there was no need as the plug and wires that you have in your picture are behind each unit and I can see all round each unit; the nearside wires "rolling" over the subframe the weld of which has a sleeve protection, no breaks nor chafing there. The offside again goes direct and over the subframe and round into the loom.
I was somewhat confused by the original suggestions but checked all wiring directions, including those wires for the fog lights which in fact run from the end of the bumper from a multi plug. I was able to see around the entire outside of each unit. As I need to use the car over the next few days, I will put off another attempt until next weekend. Though I may go under the fuse box and have a go there on Monday, so long as I don't break any wires. Last edited by planenut; 25th January 2020 at 20:15.. |

Mine was the offside, as seen, however, whilst the nearside has the plastic sheath over the seam, it doesnt below the headlight. This shows the position

When I go back into it, I will again look at that sheathing. I had planned to start to separate the wires from the sheathes when I start working up to the fuse box. |
