Default Getting in and out

Despite it's reputation for being an 'old person's car' it is surprisingly low and tricky to get in and out. I'm not that old and reasonably fit but being over 6ft
I'm finding it increasing difficult, are there an tips on how to improve this? I mean the car not me!

Haven't been on here for a while (hello to all my old mates!) but I know your plight.
I was able to manage okay but sometimes not without a struggle, however sadly my wife who has a back problem was finding it more and more difficult and I had to part with my pride and joy. We both miss it but have to accept that in our dotage we have to take a hit on numerous things

Heart keeps telling me I'd have another of these superb cars tomorrow but head says no.

Hope you are able to manage as life's not just the same once you part company.

Harry.

Thanks Harry, i had Italian sports cars before the 75 and managed them ok, i think their doors were bigger allowing more room to get your feet in!
Just need to convince the wife I 'need' an Alfa for health reasons!

It can be a real struggle to get out when you pull up next to a high kerb / pavement that’s near as high as the 75’s sill

Opening the door usually helps!

I am now 60 and spring in and out of the car like a 20 year old ballet dancer.

I am quite long in the body and find the ZT much easier to get into than my parents Passat and various other cars. The door aperture seems much lower on them and I have to dislocate my neck to get my head in! No such trouble in the ZT, but yes it is low and tricky next to a kerb.

Have you got the seat at its lowest setting?

I am cursed with a 'back' problem. An effective way to exit for me is to push the long switch on the right side of the seat backwards so the seat reverses to the limit. Then pivot on elohesra (if you are a butcher you will recognise that euphemism and know it is pronounced 'saylotch'), slide legs out so both feet on ground and use the B pillar and door handle to assiste upper body forwards and up on both feet. Re-entry then needs neither splits nor involuntarily escaping of gasses (which incidentally discourages younger generational assumptions of Oldies). Of course then the switch no. 1 returns throne to prominent position in elegant elan. I believe it is designed that way purposely.
