Brake disc scored
Hi.
Changed front discs and pads(both bosch) a few weeks back. Just had a quick visual check today and one of the discs has clean score about a third in from the outer edge. The score is about half a mm wide and deep enough to feel with a finger nail. It looks like a tiny stone is stuck between pad and disc. Anyone else had this before? |

Yes and it has probably happened to thousands of cars all over the world.--
Mine fell out by itself but left the marks where it had been.--- |

Sorted it. Tiny indent in pad where the small stone must have been.

Had this on my wife's Polo. She complained about a squeal after setting off out of the drive. I drove forward, braked and heard the squeal. I then reversed back onto the drive quite quickly and braked. There was a small rattle and the piece of gravel (flattened on one side) was sitting behind the wheel. A small mark was visible on the disc. No more rattle or squeal. The roads near us had just been tar sprayed and spread with tar and gravel!
