Coolant loss overnight

Have a thermostat thats been weeping for some time -parts in the post!- checked the level again this morning and it appears to have dropped about half a pint overnight whilst doing nothing.

What with the winter darkness and car being used until 6pm, all i can do until the weekend is keep topping it up.

Any ideas where coolant might be leaking to or from whilst standing? Have a gravel driveway unfortunately, so no tell tale signs of where it might be dripping out. I would have thought the thermostat only leaks around the seal when the engine is running?

The thermostat housing is full of coolant at all times.

Yes, keep topping it up and get it repaired a.s.a.p.

I had just presumed the pressure of the pumped water, but thats good to know. I was having a slight panic that there may be another significant leak somewhere!

Love the car but she really is testing me! -the list of repairs since getting it in May is as long as my arm ^^;;
