Been there, had exactly the same issue, got the T-shirt.
BigRuss, Marinabrian and Trikey diagnosed it, with the application of TOAF. C0570-1 Yellow/Red 2.5mm to C0603-1 and C0603-8. I believe it disables the CANbus et al. (IMHO It may be the origin of the fabled crankshaft sensor failure error that many have suffered.) Madamoiselle Colvert may have helped, my memory is getting hazy.....
