As some may know I have an issue with Rimmers and genuine
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001547
Item 1, genuine, really? If you are looking to buy I would check, double check and triple check when and where they were made.

I agree with Mike, you can see from the link on the photo that the anti-rollbar fixing is not central as it should be.

As others have pointed out DMGRS are the only supplier I would rely on, I've got a pair of the SAIC ones from them (after a bit of moaning), up in the attic too.

Is dmgrs really the only source of good quality rear arms these days?
In a word yes.

No? No? No?.

Let me explain my understanding.

Macafee2 engineering starts up in business today.
Today it makes some Rover 75 upper arms.
It sells them to Xpart on Monday
Tuesday someone is selling them as genuine.

How can that be? Macafee2 engineering were not around when Rover was in existence.
Xpart I think supplied Rover.
Oh the upper arms made by macafee2 engineering come from Xpart, argh that makes them genuine.
Does it.... rhymes with luck.

No idea who put the sticker on but on it is.
Who told me bits supplied by Xpart are regarded and sold as genuine.... Rimmers

To balance things, there may be times when pattern parts are better the genuine but they are pattern parts.

Explanation of ‘Genuine ‘= Made by the company that made and supplied the part to Rover/MG. Made by anyone else is not ‘Genuine ‘. As Macafee2 states, pattern parts are a copy of the original. What you have to ask yourself, is the part made to the same standards, using the same constituents, and manufacturing tolerances that the ‘original’ part was made to. Unfortunately today, there are a lot of ‘miss quoted’ description s about. That being ,‘original, genuine’ spare parts. If they are genuine/original, they are very old.

This picture of an MGF switch is an excellent example.
In this pic the MG Rover switch bagged as "Made in the UK" appears to have been made in China. In it's defence it did work well but you would think they would at least label it correctly.

I was trying to be helpful by mentioning there is a pair on marketplace. The seller says he bought them in 2016 from Rimmers and they have a hologram sticker on . They were for his car but never fitted. He sounds very genuine bloke. From the above posts i learn they may not be genuine so best not to buy them, but i have the sellers contact number if anyone wants to have a look.

Six year ago when he purchased them so there is a chance they could be the Chinese ones which were the ones to fit at the time? now i would only go with the DMGRS ones
