Rover 75 wanted for my Grandad - help?
Hi all
My Grandad stopped driving in 2019 after a brief health issue which is now resolved. Due to feeling quite isolated at home he has renewed his license and would like to get back on the road again. However he is retired so purchasing a car outright is going to be difficult for him, likely obtaining finance as well. My Grandad has had many cars over the years but the one he always talks about with most fondness and usually finishes with “if I could have another one, I would.” was his Rover 75. He has done a lot for our family over the years, opened his house up to people when they’ve needed it etc. Genuinely one of the nicest blokes you could ever meet. My hope/plan is to try and buy him another Rover 75, as a surprise gift. I’m not particularly affluent myself but am also not looking for a freebie, I have a budget of £500 to spare for one. I don’t mind if it’s high mileage, has a few advisories to be sorted for it’s next MOT or will need something reasonably minor sorting to get an MOT. I’ve basically come here to see if anyone may have a Rover 75 that fits this description and would be open to parting with for around £500.00? Or if you guys know of anyone or see one. I’ve searched regularly for the last couple of weeks and the budget is certainly a challenge. There have been the odd 1 or 2 but they are normally snapped up by someone before I even send a message to the owner. I live in Hampshire but can travel to collect a car without major issue with some notice. Engine wise a 2.0 or less would be most ideal. |

Also if the above dealer is a no show, you could try this car here - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314050357....c101110.m1982
