Like others have said my money would be on the condenser. Also got mine from Jules but you're need a vacuum pump, manifold set and refill cylinder to do it yourself.

No possibility I'll be doing this myself. I fill up the fuel tank by myself, and one or two other things. But that's it!

There are a couple of pipes in the engine bay you could look at that are an easy check:

Simon, I have used him in the past and found him helpful. However he no-longer replies to txt/emails, hence why I ended up at Panks. SteveN

Prior to recharging, your system should also have a vacuum held for 20 to 30 minutes which is said to allow the moisture stored in the drier to vapourise and be extracted. Lastly, I've learnt from experience that holding a vacuum is not a reliable indicator that a system is free of leaks. A nitrogen test on my Citroën revealed a broken pipe connection after it had passed a vacuum test at a garage and subsequently lost its entire charge in 24 hours! Let us know how you get on please John. Simon

Unfortunately it has turned out to be one of the most expensive possible options. They've done some testing and found a leak in the compressor itself, so that's going to set me back just under £600 (with testing and labour costs).

That sound expensive, i presume it means after fitting another new compressor, testing it after and adding the gas it is guaranteed to be perfect yes, it's about 30 minutes to remove the compressor.
