See a number of fires have broken out.

Hope to goodness folks ain't been having barbecues.

We get regular Amber/Red alerts for other, more frequent, weather extremes, high winds, rain, snow. Now we're getting them for high temperatures.

Worrying times.

Yesterday a concerned member of the public called police to the hotel where we are staying. A Rottweiler was seen inside a car in the hotel car park with all of the windows and doors closed. When the police rescued the dog it’s temp was 40C, they poured water over it and placed the dog in their car with the AC on before taking the dog to the Royal College of Vets where it remains receiving treatment. The owner of the dog was arrested, what was he thinking arrgh!
Brainless! Shouldn't be allowed to have a dog.

Not nice here today, not a breath of wind, cloud cover all day but that didn't stop the heat (28-30°), just made it really muggy and oppressive.

Much more cloud heading your way, we've just had a muggy 3 hours of it going North under a south east breeze.

Drivers should be aware that roads will be skid pans when it rains, smooth melted tarmac with bit of rubber, oil etc embedded in them need to be treated with caution.
Be careful out there.

I have just been down at Fairford, RIAT for six days, it was warm, so this morning was bliss.
Good morning Fred, yesterday we visited friends who live in Wembley and when the temp got to 40C, we sat outside in their back garden under the shade of a tree and with a breeze blowing, it wasn’t too bad.

Did anything catch your eye you particularly found interesting at RIAT? Any freebie’s?

Last night, heavy rains so will have to be careful driving to Bristol later on.

Freebies Phil?
The South Korean Black Eagles stole the show, though I did inform one of the Red Arrows team on Thursday (after BE's first rehearsal) that they might as well go home. The first time any participant has received such accolades; they are outstanding.
The Austrian Air Force presented two Eurofighters (our Typhoon) and a Hercules in a quick reaction alert scenario, followed by the two fighters in a superbly choreographed display after which I declared I didn't need to see anything else. Their positioning in every move looked so well thought out that any display pilot could learn how to safely fly and present their chosen "steed".

yesterday and today the "whole" house is hot first thing in the morning, it has been an accumulation of daily heat.

Although our house has a number of problems, the air con in the bedroom is working. Walking out onto the landing one realises how much cooler the bedroom is.

In a little while will be out in the car for a couple of hours and the air con is not working. I have messaged Jules for a resistor
