For me, the mpg factor isn't significant enough to consider. Artic makes the point that switching to Eco mode whilst cruising will reduce wear on the fan motor brushes which I can quite see. What makes that unattractive to me though is the relatively quick temperature rise inside the car coupled with having to frequently re-engage the a/c which adds a minor driving distraction, versus the actual brush wear saved.

Having now got the benefit of Artic's new fan & motor, the chances are it'll last as long as the rest of the car, so the Eco button can expect to be pressed about four times a year.

Dougie.

Sold it. The 75 has a new owner, I told him about the forum so hopefully he'll join.

Again it’s all according to the heat. What we are experiencing at the moment, I put my a/c on before leaving the garage. Windows shut. I have noticed that the a/c seems to be running on top speed 3 (diesel) for quite a while before cutting to a lower speed. As soon as it has slowed down, I run it for another 5 minutes, then turn it off, putting it back on when the interior warms up. ( Around 6/7 minutes).

Default Non-rattling Cat!

Took my ZT down to Tony Banks in Leeds today. The rattle under the car has been driving me mind and rather pessimistically thought it was the cat! After forty minutes Tony had fixed the problem, a missing bolt on the cat bracket, and he did'nt charge me a penny which I thought was really nice of the guy.

Always seem to forget and post the day after but -

Passed MOT with no advisories yesterday. Tester commented on how good it was. Still only at 46k but 8k of that has been me in the 11 months since I bought the car.

AC problem as described in another thread notwithstanding the car is running perfectly; will look at getting it to an AC specialist after my Summer holiday, where we will be taking the TF anyway.

New exhaust arrived, was expecting the pegs the silencer connets to the body to be welded, but no, a substantial hanger like the oem ones. Certainly is a chunky one so shouldn't rust through within a year like the one did on my old tourer.

Came with new rubbers, sleaves and u clamps, so will be getting fitted when I have my week of work, along with a newer turbo (from a car that only had 25k on the clock) and a brand new cat that I have had sitting around for a couple of years.

The old girl knew. I have taken the Connie SE V6 off the road and put the diesel back on. So the day before it was taken off the road, both the nearside door would not open on the fob, and neither would the boot lid. Had the lock out of the boot lid, and on disassembling it, the part under the chrome ring where the key goes in, it had broken into three parts. So I am now looking for a new barrel to fit. She knew she was being laid up.

Looked at it in all it's (now fully functional) glory.

Total cost including the car is now stands at around £2850. Sounds like a lot, but bizarrely is still the cheapest sub 100k MK-2 CR-V in the Midlands right now.
