Moved one of mine to get a Jag out for the Drivers National Club rally at the home of the late Sir William Lyons (to celebrate 100 years of Jaguar) tomorrow.

"Lyons", "Jaguar", always made me chuckle! What would he think of the "new" ones I wonder?

As little as I do, I think. My newest is 2008, and I have now stopped adding to the collection (9 including 1 Daimler)

Took the ZT to Lates for the cambelts, engine mount, sparks and condenser.

Unfortunately the car is making a horrible oscillating whine type noise with the new parts fitted - and not clear where the noise is coming from....so the car is stripped down again and sat on the lift, waiting for a genuine Rover water pump to see if the water pump that was in the belt kit is the issue...

Big thanks to Lates for the lift home and the extra hours when he and Pete should have been going home!

Removed front bumper and then removed chrome trim from around grill, it was only held on with two fixings, happy that the fixings were stainless so someone had been in before and replaced the rusty corroded ones.
Having read a thread on repairing said chrome trim and a type of flexible adhesive is recommended due to vibration was thinking of using windscreen adhesive as this is both flexible and super sticky. Or has anyone used something else and had good results.

Went to a chap I know who repairs and breaks 75/zt's today and removed a sony roof mounted dvd system in its entirety, a job for later in the week will be to test it.

Sorted the airbag light on my derv zt, then fitted a battery box that was missing and replaced a faulty glovebox cd player on my missus zt.

Default Throttle Body Replaced.

Tuesday 26th.

Fitted the alloy throttle body I got from Arctic (thanks Steve). Job went well, bit of difficulty with the lower bolts, particularly the one nearest front of car - The Incredible Hulk must've fitted the original TB!

On firing Lagetha up all was normal, idle speed 750rpm, just like before, no warning lights etc. Warmed up to normal temp, then did the TB reset procedure, turning off, key to position 2, then 5 slow full depressions of the accelerator pedal, wait 20 seconds, then start car, again all normal.

Driving appears slightly better, crisper take up on acceleration, better fuel economy will take longer to establish!

An extended drive resulted in me noticing an strange "chirping" noise on idle from the throttle body area... Investigation and research revealed I had bought and fitted the throttle body from a 1.8T - this meant the lower breather pipe from the TB to the cam cover is blocked, so the cam cover breather was not breathing! I disconnected this lower pipe from the tb and fitted a small filter to it, and now the car is running smooth and quiet again.

Have 2 R75s, was going to swap the one I am using for the "spare" as the road tax was running out. Tried backing it out to wash it of the accumulated dust and BANG!!!! Took a look and front rh tyre was flat. Took the wheel off and the spring had broken; the sharp end had torn a hole in the side of the tyre (reasonable new Goodyear) ! It went into Stand-By mode just after having had 2 springs replaced to pass its MOT (neither of them the one that broke). Several bad words but its mostly apart to fit as new spring and will take a look at the mounts as the gear box jumps out of 3rd quite frequently. The saying "never rains but it pours" comes to mind though could do with it to rain and pour here in Suffolk!
