I have a model S type Jag and a 75 that were "Special Editions". My grandson has often asked to play with them but he now knows that they are for looking at and not playing with! Hopefully, he will appreciate them one day. I gave my younger cousins a full set of boxed Dinky army toys when they were younger. I thought that my (ex-marine) uncle would have instructed them in how to look after them but they were trashed within a day!!!! My older cousin recently saw some similar kit make thousands on the telly! I just raised my eyebrows when he told me!

Cool

Evening everyone.

Hot and sticky here. But got a lot of gardening done. Started to repot the strawberry plants. I gave 24 pots away last year. Still picking strawberries. Reckon I’ll get a bumper supply of raspberries this year. One single cane and it’s nearly 5’ tall.

Just having a couple Henry’s this evening.

I found the blue light, after going elbow deep in the contents of the hoover bag. I noticed the model was damaged after hoovering. Still wondering what I can do about the wing mirrors.

This was it before they got their mitts on it

Good morning Ian, excellent news!

A big decision for you to take which has to be made between yourself, your good lady and your oncologist.

When my brother had his prostate cancer cut out in 2013, some of it remained embedded and could not be removed. The rest was removed by radiation with 35 treatment sessions, each lasting 20 minutes. The only side effect he experienced was tiredness.

The surgery left him incontinent for 12 months, ultimately it was not permanent. He got by with incontinence pads and sleeping in a separate room from his wife. Fortunately the incontinence cleared up.

A few years ago, the cancer returned and it was bone spread, so he was started on hormone therapy to slow the spread down and PSA went back to normal.

More recently, last month his PSA has gone back up and another new treatment has commenced involving steroids, a new cancer drug and fortnightly blood tests.

What a relief for you, there is no sign of cancer elsewhere.

Do keep us posted ….

Morning all,

I had a phone call yesterday from the vascular surgeons secretary.

The surgeon is going away on holiday and wants to delay the operation until mid September, also he wants me to have a repeat Stress Echo Cardiogram test to double check the cardiologists findings. If all clear he wants another surgeon to help him with the op.

Another trip to London and another delay, but it’s better to be safe. We changed our tickets as we were supposed to fly back on 10 August, so it looks as though we could be here for autumn, winter and God willing ……Christmas x

Despite all that, we took a drive into Wales and visited a castle in a country park. A picnic and a lovely day out.

This morning we are walking to a local colliery, in part ruins and in parts it’s being restored.

What’s everyone up to?

Morning Steve, how stressful for you. I can’t advise about the wing mirrors, can you not improvise and make new ones yourself?
