Default Front spring isolator alternative

Hi all I'm looking to replace the front spring isolators whilst I'm overhauling the suspension.
This is the part in question:
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RBC100150

However I'm quite reluctant to spend over £30 for what is essentially a plastic sleeve that collects water.

Does anyone know of any alternatives or cheaper options available that would be kinder on the wallet and provide the same level of noise dampening (or better).

Cheers

Andrew

I'd have a look at something like this https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-CRC2744 quite a thick piece of rubber compared to the plastic, other models might have something better size wise as I believe the SD1 spring has a greater diameter.

Regards

Thank you Vitesse, I think something like that would definitely help!

I have also found this:

I’m thinking that might also be a suitable solution?!

Do these actually wear out?

I fitted a pair of new springs not long after I bought the car, and I simply used some little cable ties to secure the plastic tubes in place.

I smeared a little grease on the spring, hopefully this will slow the onset of corrosion.

They seemed to sit in the cup on the damper okay, and I can't say as I've noticed any untoward noises.

My own car is over 16 years old, and as far as I can tell these are the original parts.

I suppose the sleeve stuff might work, I prefer the if it's not broken approach though.

I'd be interested to see the outcome for future perhaps.

They are a little worn, a couple of holes in them from ware and generally quite tatty!
As I’m replacing most of the suspension and refurbishing the rest, I would rather replace them than strap the old ones back on..
I’ve also found some poly variants:

Not sure of the diameter and another concern would be raising the suspension height with them..

Appears this part number is used by the Modern MG on the MG6 and MG GS

Hello all,
I'll do a bit of 'homework' and see if any of our suppliers can bring this cost down - that's rather expensive for a bit of rubber!

I'll get back to you in due course once I've spoken to them.
