Vale Judith Durham
I was saddened to learn of the passing of Judith Durham on 5th August. She was the lead singer of the Australian music group, The Seekers. She was 79.
The singing group resided in the UK for a time. Their group consisted of Judith Durham, Athol Guy, Bruce Woodley and Keith Potger. Their repertoire included I’ll Never Find Another You (reached number one on the UK and Australia charts); A World of Our Own; The Carnival is Over; Georgy Girl; Morningtown Ride etc. We in Melbourne recall the group performing at the local Myer Music Bowl in front of 200,000 fans (10% of the city’s then population). That record remains today. The band remained firm friends right to her end. Many may not be aware that her father was a navigator during WWII and was a Pathfinder in a de Havilland Mosquito. |

Never knew they were Australian.
Alas we are all getting old and as children those adults are now so much older. macafee2 |

Youtube.
Go on youtube and watch some of their recording sessions, I love the Seekers and Morningtown Ride is still a tune that takes me back to being young.
