Door Finishers Chrome.

Is it possible to take off the chrome door finishers, they have been put on with silicone. If so how?

I would guess they would come off but may take the paint with them. Some bodyshop stuff is permanent some not.

Jules yes use some fishing line 10lbs breaking strain, slip behind the finisher and use a sawing action pulling outwards to you at the same time good look

hopefully you or whomever fitted them used silicone and not all nails, if the latter you could be in trouble.

You can buy tubes of silicone 'remover' for cleaning off cured silicone that's firmly bonded to a surface. You might need some after you've detached the door finishers. It will denature the cured silicone so you won't damage the paintwork trying to scrape it off.

Agree with T-Cut here, I recently had to remove about 10 miles of silicon off a caraboat to redo it all and make it watertight again. That silicon removing stuff was a godsend!
