Default Scrap or not?

Hello everybody.....the last thing I want to do is get rid of my Rover 75 (1.8 petrol turbo, 2004), however, the head gasket has just blown after paying £500 to have a new clutch fitted. I've been quoted £800 at a Rover garage to repair it, but at this present time my budget won't stretch that far. Does anybody know anyone in the Manchester area who can do this cheaper please?

Cool

MJSAUTOANDMARINE.CO.UK Mike Stafford specialises in the K series. Fully mobile .
Or
MGROVERSOLUTIONS.CO. Russel Walsh is the man to speak to fully mobile.
Or
ROUGHLUCKRACING.CO.UK. Fully mobile. Speak to Jon.

The quote you have is way to expensive.

I certainly wouldn't expect over £400. How much would a replacement car cost? certainly much more.

Sounds like a Rover garage that just doesn't want the work to me. I paid £400 for a full top end rebuild on my old 1.8.

Agree, that would include a head skim and relapping the valves too.

I was just going to suggest these - they'll sort it for you.
https://en-gb.facebook.com/NWRoverRepairs/about/

It'll be one of our kits fitted, and their pricing is incredibly good.

Could it be a case of them over charging hoping you'll go somewhere else cos they don't want to do it?
