Default Rover 45 which alternator??

Hi guys, it's been a year since I've been on the forum so it's nice to be back.

I have a rover 45 1.4 petrol and the alternator needs to be replaced. I'm trying to figure out which alternator to buy because there are so many options?

It's a 2004 and it has aircon. I wanted to buy a remanufactured Bosch one however on autodoc it says that this alternator is not suitable for vehicles without aircon... So i'm trying to figure out which one I need to order.

Can anyone help? If I can find the specific OE number then i'm also good.

Thanks

Your best option will be to look at the sticker on the body of the alternator on your car and buy the same or a compatible one.

Default Alternator

What's up with the alternator. If it's just not charging it might just be the brushes in the rectifier pack. Cheap fix and easy to do, in fact on a 45/ZS you can do them in situ.

I had the alternator replaced replaced on my 45 (1.8 with AC) around 3 years ago.The garage asked what sort of quality of part I wanted and I replied very good. They fitted a Delco Remy and it's been fine,no problems at all

I'd fit any known good brand - Valeo, Delphi etc.
eBay item number 254243214564 is a Bosch item, and corresponds to the correct MG Rover part number YLE102430.

We can order the Genuine MG Rover part at around £130, but appreciate this is quite expensive!
