Default Clutch Master Cylinder replacemnent

Hi Everyone and i hope you are keeping cool.

Driving my very elderly mother in law around Rochdale yesterday, when the temperatire hit 90, I noticed that my clutch was dragging and it was hard to change gear, I am presuming after 100,000 miles that the clutch master cylinder is on the way out. Is there anyone in the Yorkshire region who can do this job for me? I have ordered a new metal one from DMGRS but with our apporaching wedding annoversiy I am releuctant to start taking the car apart again, my better half would not be impressed!!
Very bets wishes to all,
Bob

Presuming is not checking.---
A master cylinder top up might give you a cure for a while if the leak is not too bad.--Worst case would be the slave cylinder about to expire.---

Default Top up

The nice chap in my local helpful garage has lent me the bottle top which he uses! Going to give it a go tomorrow morning trying not to spill and hydralic fluid all over my car!!
Take care.

Top it up & then disconnect the quick-release joint under the bonnet. Try the clutch pedal & it should be rock hard with no movement, if so that would indicate the slave is on the way out. If there's movement then get the master changed.
Mind you, that's no guarantee the slave isn't also on the way out.

You may wish to IM member suzublu as he is in North Yorks and from memory has previously posted contact details of a local mechanic.
