Default car with Messenger now :)

Well the car is now safely up with Messenger to have a look at it

It was over a 30 mile journey which i haven't done in it since the peterborough show.

I'm glad atleast it got there without too much problem but i did have to get out once and push the car back on my own due to the lost reverse gear and my slow reacting Navman satnav!

Problem seems to be pointing at an electrical fault to me either the Autobox ECU or selector? have a read below and see what you can make of this

I was sitting on the M3 stuck in 3rd gear for 10 miles of my journey
at around 50 mph showing and 4,000 revs as would not change up but when i slowed/ stopped at some traffic lights and then pulled away for a dual carriageway all 5 were back

The auto gearbox shop said its a strange problem as when they tried they could get reverse gear nearly everytime on test day if they slowly went through the gears from 2 to Reverse, this doesn't seem to work for me now but i did get it twice out of around 10 tries today

Well i think its in the best place for proper check out now

Thanks again Messenger

Has been commented on many times on the forum, its so annoying when you track a thread regarding a problem, only to find there has been no conclusion posted
Hope you get sorted Bernard.

This particular problem seems to be one that stumps everyone!

I've started a new thread on it here:

Be interesting if anything comes up.
