Suspension overhaul
Hey,
Im thinking of renewing all fron end suspension new shocks, springs, lower arms, track rods ands and track rod ends and new strut mounts and bearings. Is it ok to do the front and then the rear at a later stage? My car has the earlier firm shock absorbers but the ones from dmgrs ive noticed are the comfort spec ones. Will this be safe and drive ok still? Cheers Phill |

Change the rear shocks for comfort spec at the same time, easy enough job to do and will balance things out and make your spine happier.

When I did mine last year the pig tails looked really crabby (see attached photo), although the rest of the spring looked good. I decided to put new ones on. However, when I stripped the front struts to change the top bearings, while the spring pig tails were a bit corroded, they were not bad. So I cleaned them up and put some hammerite on them to protect them. If the originals look OK, it might be worth staying with them. I'm sure the steels used in the original springs are probably of better quality than many of the ones on the market today.

Ok mate thanks!
I may just keep them then replace layer on if they snap as dont look to bad to look at from wheel arch. Although it wont be me doing the work so I cant really clean things up and paint them |
