If having removed a wiper blade, leave the arm cranked up so that, if the wipers are accidently turned on, the end of the arm does not scratch the screen.
BUT - and this is the important bit, do NOT then open the bonnet, it will catch the arm and flick it down onto the screen cracking it, as I found to my cost (£175). Probably safest of all to wrap the end of the arm in a cloth and place it back on the screen. |
