Simon D will be at Stafford Services. I'll have to have a hearty breakfast on Sunday morning and a nice early night on Saturday for the 7.30 departure from Stafford. Shouldn't take me too long to get there from Lichfield though

Sounds fine to me. I'll have to work out a time of departure from Lichfield and then I'll PM you with the details.

Don't feel rushed from Stafford
Leaving Lanacaster services 09:30 on the dot is not critical is it! afer all it is day out not a route march I would much rather do the last part of the journey in one bigger convoy

Default Morecambe Bay

Hi All.
I am from Lancaster. The Lancaster Services Station (formally known as Forton Services) is approx an hour from Holker Hall.

Anyone wishing to drive along the beautiful Morecambe Bay promenade should depart the M6 at Junction 33 or 34, following the signs for Lancaster. From there follow the signs for Morecambe. At the roundabout, the one past the MacDonalds Drive Thru (I thought I'd mention that in case any of you are hungry!) which has the 'Welcome to Morecambe' sign, you can take one of two routes;

1. Take the 2nd exit to Morecambe town centre (this route will take you past the 'Shrimps' football ground). Follow the signs for the Festival Market. This will lead you onto the promenade. Head for 'Bare, Hest Bank or Bolton-Le-Sands'.
2. Take the third exit onto Broadway.This will lead you onto the promenade. Head for 'Bare, Hest Bank or Bolton-Le-Sands'.

The first route will take you on a longer stretch of Morecambe promenade. Taking in fabulous views over the bay towards Grange, the Eric Morecambe statue, The 'Deco' Midland Hotel, etc. etc.

Once on the promenade, enjoy the views; enjoy the drive; and enjoy the day!

Looking forward to meeting you all at Holker Hall regardless of the routes you take.
Drive safely!
