Hello, sorry for late reply.....just want to say a massive thank-you for the advice. In the end I contacted Russell at mgroversolutions.com.....he came to my home as he is moblle. He is a Rover fanatic and replaced my head gasket in 3 hours, as well as giving me some free advice. He charged £450 instead of the £800 that the nearby Rover specialist garage quoted me. It was good and very reassuring to see a 'master' at work. I really enjoyed meeting him ...a top bloke!
