Cor, Phew, it was hot at the airport coming home at 9 am yesterday, then got held up due to no airport wheelchair lift for a couple from a cruise ship. One hour delay sat on the tarmac. The weather is very weird around the world. Hotel staff said that summer will be unbearable. As Fred Pontin used to say "Book early"!

Good morning Jeff, the cats are looking amused when they see you with the camera.

Here is a shot of our home made BBQ in South Africa made from rocks and stones gathered from the mountains, less elaborate than yours but works okay. In South Africa the BBQ is called a Braai “simple outdoor meat cooking” and it’s part of the culture as everyone has a Braai in the garden.

A photo from yesterday’s visit to the hospital dining room. Everything all in was £4.95 and was a treat and not expensive.

The surgeon had the results of the scans and he said I will need 2 operations at the same time, something I was not expecting and he will organise another consultant surgeon to do the other operation at the same time as the bypass at The Royal Free Hospital in London in about 2 weeks time or during the first week of July - as soon as it can be organised, booking the OR and finding an anaesthetist finding a bed etc, He will ask Marta who knows me from the last op in September, a lovely young lady who put me to sleep in the nicest way 😀 😀

I am not looking forward to it, hence not sleeping very well, but it can’t be helped.

Oh, we are already very relaxed after two weeks of chill out. Plenty of walks and nature spotting like a certain Mr Durrel in the Corfu mountains and valleys. The sunbed and bar dwellers do their thing and we do ours. Back in the afternoons for a swim and some cordon bleu, followed by a Metaxa on the balcony. 😀

Morning Phil, morning all.

I think your bbq comes with a slightly better view than ours
Ours was made with bricks and wood from.................The local DIY centre
BBQ should arrive today so more photos will follow.

I must say that Fish&Chips looks extremely good value, hope it went down well

What is the 'other' operation that is required to be done at the same time Phil?

I can well imagine that it is hard to relax and sleep knowing the surgery is coming up fast.
At least you know what to expect from your previous op and your medical background.
Perhaps, once you are back home, you might be up for another post op visit ?

I'm off out to drop Ros off at the shop in a minute and then a trip to Lidl to get some bbq related food

We are off to the weekend steam rally and classic cars and tractors today. I haven’t been well enough to the last couple of years and the weather is sunny and warm for the day.
It’s only about 8 miles away just out at Corbridge rugby playing field.
