Just a nod on this it may not be a simple wire swap.

If I'm right then the original fan was probably 3 speed and it is now fitted with a 2 speed?

You may want to look at this thread, if you haven't already, as I've just had a similar issue albeit the fan was original but I used a 3 speed PCB.

The easiest solution would be to fit a 2 speed PCB if you have access to one or just read on

Ray

I think we're ok as it was a petrol 2 speed fan converted to a diesel 2 speed....

Ah yes I think it was, but following Stocktakes diagram it appears to work, but having read your epic nightmare I'm hoping both speeds work, but they're just the wrong way round

Okay, I hope you are right, I'm not wishing ill-will on you but wanted you to be aware.

If you swap the red and slate and it still runs high speed then disconnect the leads from both relays and reconnect them individually. If you can get low speed then but only get high when they are both connected, then I think you'll find the relays are being energised together.

well pleased to report, it was simply a matter of switch feeds over....Kevin know has a two speed fan working as intended.....
