Okay have mayo on cap
Okay I have been topping up daily around a couple of tablespoons of water and had a chance for a better look today and have got the start of mayo on the oil filler cap, now only been doing around 2 miles a day for the last couple of months what chance have I got that it’s condensation with the short journeys, also any way to check if the oil cooler is the cause of the water loss ?
Thanks

Easy enough to find out if it’s condensation. Take it for around 50 miles quick drive. If it had gone, it’s condensation. If it hasn’t, investigate further. My guess it’s condensation.

And we just had the coldest spell of the year so far. It's likely to be condensation, but that shouldn't be coming from the coolant otherwise all cars would lose coolant in winter. Short journey, cold weather condensation under the cam covers originates from fuel combustion. Double-check your coolant level before and after a long run to be more confident.

"Okay have mayo on cap"
I thought this was a dry-cleaning question!

Thanks all time for an update ran it for a couple of days with around 50 miles a day and no mayo on the cap, so back to a daily run of a couple of miles and it’s back, so repeated the long runs again and it’s gone again so can I assume that it’s just these short runs I am doing atm ?
Thanks

I would agree with that.
Unless you have a Vauxhall Corsa, like my wife had for a wile, that seemed to make enough to sell to Hellmans no matter what type of running about you did in it!
