the old MAf Chesnut
As its always been the advice to not touch the Cheap end stuff and get a genuine Bosch , Anyone had experience of the DMGRS cheaper end MAF's.,
Quote the bosch maf bumf on their site "Cheap MAFs on the Rover 75 / MG ZT CDT / CDTi can cause over or under fueling, poor running and other issues." 2yrs warranty, & how do you prove its duff but And @ 55 quid every 2 years isn't that economical . C

I got this one a couple of months back, took the sensor out and put into the old unit on the car. Works a treat and if I have to replace it in 2 years time then so be it, a small price to pay for such a cheap unit. Would take 6 to 8 years and 4 changes to reach the price of a BOSCH unit https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-BMW3-...53.m2749.l2649

[QUOTE=roverbeast75;2877665]
Going by ATAF4049 its an AlphaTec unit. Even though its a straight swap and the whole unit fits perfectly, I just removed the sensor and replaced the original. Car has done only 500 miles with it on but the engine never performed as well as it does now, Power/performance is up and so in fuel econ. I did have a new CAT fitted at the same time so that might play apart as well. That was another bargain from bankrupt stock that only cost £33 Brand New for the full pipe. Oh would like to add just in case I get the Nay sayers going on about the MAF. The car went in for its MOT on Saturday and passed with flying colours, no advisories and had an emissions reading of 0.35 at idle and 0.55 at 4500rpm. The limit is 1.00

What I can say is that over the years I've seen lots of cars fitted with just about every aftermarket MAF and not one has matched the airflow readings of the original Bosch units. Russ

Maf
I had my car at Brown and Gammons in Baldock, the poor running was traced to my MAF, and they replaced it with a Pierburg one, (No Ron Box needed)
not sure what the part number was but car runs great with it. |
