60mm....that's massive.......coat hook as well ???

I'm sure that the wheel bolts, especially the splined ones are all BMW (the black caps have the BMW logo on).

I thought the difference in bolts was if they were exposed or under a centre cap.
I use the word allegedly, advisedly.

(sorry edited instead of quoted, all better now )

Well, mine are under centre caps and I'm glad, as it hides the shame of having non Rover (aka BMW) parts on my car! Time to ask Les nicely for a new set...

I'll have a trawl for a 17mm socket in my cold garage in the morning; at least if I have it in my car I am safe if I get a flat (how embarrassing... here come the RAC... well Sir, unable to change a wheel eh?).

Cheers again for your help chaps!

Default Wheel Bolts

Correct bolts are 25mm with 60 degree countersink if for Rover alloys.
Sound as if they are too long if they are scraping.... and dangerous probably.
At £15.99 post paid the lockers mentioned above are superb.
I recommend you tighten them to 80 ft lbs rather than the 90 ft lbs for the other 4 bolts.

Thanks Dave, I was thinking I'd have to take one off and measure it.

And a further thanks for finding Nitrous Gear in the first place for the forum members.

That's not a bad price at all - I've seen them on eBay but they were £15.99 plus postage on top.

Ooo, that's a point, I must write my review of Crowtrees Service Centre in Brighouse, as I've secured a 10% discount for members that have paid their subs and bought a car sticker

Well done indeed, post it up and if you would be kind enough PM me a copy and I will arrange for it to go in the Members offers section on the club web site.
