Each time you remove or recover, you risk scratching, and of course, the car must be totally dry before covering. A carcoon may be a better choice IF you have room. However, if this is only a temporary and short term measure, I would just make sure the car is highly polished to protect from rain and sunlight. Some of mine have lived outside (by necessity) for a number of years with no detriment. Modern paints and lacquers are very forgiving, unlike the old cellulose variety.

I've used a Halfords outdoor cover for 5 years on my ZT no issues with scratching marking etc it's an extra large so goes down past the brake discs so no rusting the only thing I do is remove the cover regularly when weather is dry and keep well polished
