Nooo!!! Glad you made it out unscathed matey.

As above with wiring to a circuit controlled by the ignition in the under-dash fuse box. That location makes it easy to route the wire up the A-pillar to the camera.
If you want to use the camera while parked to spot vandalism/parking damage Korean manufacturer, Pittasoft makes a product called Power Magic which you can set for a specific time (1hr, 2hr, 8hr etc) They also make lithium power supplies but these are quite pricey.

Popped round to Norfolk ninjas to remove the wiring harness from his donor car before it goes for scrap, quite a task in the afternoon heat, popped to the pub afterwards for a cold one and some tacos.

Well.... today I part exchanged my 75 - a very short lived experience, I almost bought the Cowley V6 the seller had in, however I've decided to go for his Honda CR-V instead as my head reminded me that the saloon really was no good for my sudden change in requirements - this being despite my heart screaming at me to go for the V6! One thing I do know is I WILL be back - hopefully in a nice V6 Auto Tourer in either 75 or ZT flavour in the near future. I just need to get my other posts deleted so no one finds them and it harms the sale of the car!

Not a Rover, but got the Aircon fixed in my Honda.

Now on 146k miles and still going strong.

My (almost 3 year old) grandson and I washed it and dried it. He got a gold medal for car washing! 😉

Treated the old gold one to a new pollen filter and a full clean out of the plenum today.

Noticed a crack in the scuttle panel so swapped that over too, decided to do a ‘before and after’ on my new favourite trim restorer, this is following one coat, the results after two or three coats are brilliant.

Been playing with a poorly KV6, the state of the internals beggared belief, the oil was like tar which in turn appears to have seized the inlet cam.

Default A Big Thank You (and an update on my Rover 75 Connoisseur)

A year ago I bought my dream car, a Mark 1 Rover 75 Connoisseur CDT. Sadly, as with most R75s driven by non-enthusiasts, she had not been looked after- and for almost two years, had sat in a shed, doing just 23 miles in that time. Even so, she was the best drive I have had- and I have driven some so-called top luxury cars in my time.

Thanks to the help, advice and hard work of Big Russ and Tom Hobbs, Rosie (as my car was named by my partner) is now an even better drive, and is starting to look more like she should too.

Since the restrictions, she's also started to be driven as she should- on those long city to city or region to region drives that a Rover 75 must have to continue to run smoothly. Today we will be going to Nottingham to see Bruce Dickinson (of iron Maiden fame), next week to North Wales to see family and the weekend after to Bristol to see my daughter.

Still to do:
  • There are some exposed rust spots around the boot badge and lock- I am assuming the previous owner was none too careful with his keys and pierced the paintwork.
  • There are some rust spots on the interior framework (eg the seat mount)
  • A fuel sensor has an intermittent fault
  • Badges need replacing or restoring. I have bought a colour restorer, and will be using that next week. If that fails, replacement.
  • The paintwork on the bonnet has a burn mark the size of a 50p
  • The windscreen metal rim has bent off from the seal. It is proving difficult to reset!
  • My key fob needs repairing- it locks but doesn't open.

And that's it.

Thanks to everyone in this Forum for all the helpful posts, responses and general support.

Thumbs up

With the Sky Blues playing at home this afternoon, I saved all week to take the car to my fave car wash in Ball Hill.

Delroy & Leon got working with their leathers before robbing me of my £2.50.

Just need another good result now to make it a perfect day

GO - you blues.....⚽⚽

Dave
