efff me, lesson learnt, compressed air
Needed to remove the new piston from the brake caliper.
I had only just put it in and had not bled it so did not want to go through that process. Levered it out so far and then no more so tried compressed air via the caliper bleed valve. I thought air was leaking from the short bit of tube on the bleed nipple, the piston was moving very slowly then .... bang. Like a bullitt, I never saw the piston come out of the caliper but the ting as it hit metal gave it away. wow lesson learnt, cover piston with towel or something to prevent it going like a bullitt, I count my self lucky no damage and no injury. macafee2 |

Used that method umpteen times back in the biking days. Made up a hose, banjo connector at one end, foot pump connector at the other and yes, you have to do something to avoid launching (and possibly damaging) the piston.
