Not only was the bumper damaged when I washed the car today I discovered the divers side rear passenger door is creased two dings in one day!

As for parking in parent snd child spaces I’m a single parent and know how frustrating it is to find them all full while hundreds of disabled spaces are free so if your going to use a reserved space use the disabled ones.

ALL of the scrapes to my car have been done in super market car parks over here in France by the local bumper car drivers.---Merde---

That works for me too - in a controlled environment - but methinks not in a public place where either/both sides of a vehicle can have doors opened (plus opened with no consideration of other vehicles adjacently parked).

no don't use disabled spaces. Everyone else is able to walk but often, not the disabled to any great distance. using a disabled space when not disabled is worse then taking 2 spaces

perhaps there should be wider spaces or smaller cars. wider spaces = less spaces.

Our '75's are large cars,
But super market spaces are stupidly small, and cars in general just get bigger and bigger.

Case and point.
Have a look at an early Vauxhall Corsa, small hatchback.
Now look at the modern one, it's a large hatchback!

The Adam, which is roughly the size of the early Corsa, is to be discontinued later this year.

All valid points, however the trend is to electric and if I have judged the norm in that area then my guess is that supermarket car parks (subject in question) will be frequented by smaller cars doing more local trips so good luck with your unspoken hopes for larger parking slots....even if nothing changed with future vehicles the pile it high/sell it low brigade are unlikely to reduce parking density, it's just not in their DNA

Cool

Sliding doors would be a better option. That way the supermarkets could cram more cars in.

I can see it now, those types who struggle to find their fuel filler cap, will now be looking for the door.

It's why Citroen produced the "Cactus" for the supermarket car parks, all that side rubber.
