A good friend of mine ordered a New Range Rover 13 months ago and was told it's a 12 month delivery time, not a problem as he was spending 6 months out of the country. Anyway 12 month's he contacted Land Rover to ask about the delivery day. His answer was we don't even have a build date oh and by the way the price has gone up £30k.
He then started ringing round to see if any dealer's had cancelled orders or something he might like. Basically he was told nothing available and he would have to be patient, not even a demonstrator available. He rung Bentley just out of interest because with the new price he was going to be spending close to that money anyway.. He was offered a demonstator with1200 miles on it or a cancellation order in about 4 weeks. He asked if he liked the demonstator how quickly could he have it,? Basically he was told if he looked at it before 10am he could have it the same day.. He was there at 9am and was driving it home at 1pm. It's 2 month's old and he paid about the same as he was going to pay for the Land Rover if it ever arrived.

"Jaguar kills off its entire range for new era of extremely expensive BEV's, Assembly lines are stopping to transition to an entirely new platform".

Au revoir, Jaguar. I'm a poet and I don't know it!

Jaguar or JLR are going to be in a world of expensive hurt by the end of the year!
Their 22% ZEV target for 2024 is 14700 & 2025 ZEV target will be 18760.

They don’t have that kind of EV offering with just their lacklustre sales of the Jaguar i-pace BEV which will be retired soon.Land Rover has zero electric vehicles so wont be hitting that 22% electric car ZEV target.

Jaguar only have 6000 i-pce ev's allocated to the UK this year which will leave them woefully short of their ZEV target.
They will either have to pay Tesla or one of the Chinese BEV manufacturers for carbon credits or pay £15000/ICE vehicle oversold. I wonder if they'll reduce their ICE cars by that amount as they're going to have to pay it anyway.

Oh! Heck, It goes from bad to worse for the Jaguar i-pace ev! They've been recalled twice over battery fires from those LG Chem battery traction packs & yesterday a Jaguar i-pace brakes failed whilst on the motorway.

Brakes failed - yes, but car then accelerated up to a ton plus (nice old term)
Police had to box it in, to bring it down to stationary.

But see Wrayond's recent post JagFire, for a bigger picture.

Yeah seen that, Scary stuff indeed. I see Jaguars JV (joint venture) with the huge Chinese car manufacturer Chery are bringing out their new sub brand OMODA 5 BEV by the end of this month in the UK then Europe & Australia.
