Apart from at Cosford I have only ever seen one in the flesh. It was at the Ipswich park and ride carpark in Copdock just outside Ipswich.

There used to be one about 4 miles from the Longbridge factory right next to junction 1 of the M42 motorway. I saw it twice and thought man that looks looks the dogs with serpents etc.
That was until meeting the Yellow peril, the only one i have ever saw in the "tin" until we gained the ownership of the primrose diesel. For the guy who asked the question "how rare are they on this subject" here are the production numbers 580 in total made of primrose yellow rover 75's all Oxford built cars, no Longbridge ones 400 were exported in left hand drive 180 were British home market right hand drive the diesel count is only 29 diesel rover 75 primroses ever built for both markets, This next section cannot be confirmed though but rumered to be correct. 20 Primrose diesels were export models only 9 Primrose diesel models for the British home markets. So the diesel version are the rarest, but overall all primrose yellows car are like striking gold in finds. I placed onto this site only a couple of weeks ago about who owns rover 75's in primrose yellow and the whole response was just perils and mine (shame). I think after nearly 10 years and the scrappage scheme and wear and tear and also accident damage ones i reckon the law of averages on 180 British car survival rates would be around "85-90" Primrose yellow rover 75's left to purchase at the very most. I hope this helps, I have been looking for 3 years to find another primrose diesel and never found one, it took me two years to find a primrose yellow car and then i landed on my diesel one, bought it straight away over the phone and went over to Northern Ireland to bring it home to England where it was made. Up to this point and since i keep looking to no avail , never found another diesel one since before my find or afterwards. Mart. Last edited by martin green; 12th July 2009 at 09:09.. |

I think it's still in use as it's been moved across the road a couple of times alough theres abit of mould on it now and the paints very faded.
