Just to remind ourselves, this is what a Jaguar should look like. It is interesting to note the Similarity to our "75"

Rather poor quality but it's the only pic I can find of the front view.

Exactly so!! Put all your gubbins UNDER that. Why must they always change good design? Nice Bournemouth plate. 63....64?Alan

Exactly!! Why do they have to always change good designs just for the sake of it. Put all the mordern things under that body! Nice Bournemouth plate. 63-64?? Alan

Hmmm, The front is OK grille matches the xf and the overall shape of the thing is quite nice but the back is awful!! It doesn't go with the rest of the car at all, why are the rear lights vertical? There is nothing in the rest of the design similar. The wood on the inside is not very good either...seventies coach/bus anyone?

IMHO of course

>>>Nice Bournemouth plate. 63-64?? Alan<<<

Close! it was a 1965 Bournemouth car, I bought it in 1973 ish with 65k on the clock, I then sprayed ir red as it was golden sand originaly, but the paintwork had gone flat.

I then had to add the knock on knock off wire wheels in order to stop the brake fluid boiling in the flexi near the disks. I sold it around 1983 with 160k on it.

Last time I saw the car (about 1992 it had 310k on the clock!!

Where were the pics taken? It´s not quite the Bournemouth area - south coast though. 73... good times. I did 6 months on Cyprus with UNFICYP Aviation Flight. 4 Siouxs in a hanger a stones throw from Nicosia Airport. A Landrover nearly every afternoon to go swanning off to Paphos or Kyrenia or maybe Flamingo beach in Farmagusta! Have you still got a Jag?Alan

Hi Alan. The "side on" pic was taken at Rockley Pier, Hamworthy. The frontal was taken at Sea View Parkstone, I cropped it from a larger photo of some friends.

I went off Jag/Daimlers when the series 4 (pepperpot wheels) came out and havent liked anything they have made since then. So no, I no longer have a Jag.

Having said that, I do like the Mk1 "75" CDT auto, it is a lovely car. In fact it's the only car I have really liked since I sold my "S" type.

yes i have to agree that the bl series 3 was a terrible car.

Alough after that they still made some fantastic cars, xj40, xj12, x300, x308 and the x350.

My xj40 is still a true jag, she sure knows how to rust like one!

Rockley Pier and Sea View. Brings back memorys! I never had the were with all for a Jag. Saw a white Mk II today. Our local opition has a -S- type. While driving by a couple of filling stations the other day I noticed the back en of a tourer. Had to turn round and have a chat to the guy. 2003, Royal Blue. Very nice, had it from new. He was a british car fan for the last 35 years. Said he had a series III E type 2+2 in his garage at home (posh area). Imported it from the states. Factory convertable only 100 made. Think I´ll go and have a look at it in a day or two as I´ve got my hols.
While you were zipping about Poole an Sandbanks in your -S-, I was racing up Wimborne Road in a white 1600E. Paid for from my ill gotten gains (poker) while on -tour- in Belfast, (Browns Square Police Station). It seems like a century ago now. :lol:Alan

Hi Rob75. I saw some pics of your car and it is very nice. I must admit once I gave up on them I haven't bothered to keep up to date, and as stated i do like the model you have. The interior is particularly nice.

Hi Roverowner. many moons ago I sold a car to a garage in Parkstone. I then bought a cheap White 1600E from them for £600 in order to get home! The good news was I then sold the 1600E locally (Cheshire) for £1.200!!! heh heh.
