Thank you for taking the trouble, much appreciated But with 3/4 tank of diesel..... I don't think a V6 would do ... Nice thought though....

Asked the same question, but still waiting for a reply

I think the BMW's were in-line whereas the 75's were transverse engines....? Maybe the engine mountings are different?

BTW..... what does "i think bmw de tunned it" mean"??

Hi Andrew,
Sorry to read of your problem at the moment and I was just wondering that if your current engine was performing well, i.e. low oil consumption and reasonable to good performance, would it be worth considering fitting a new crankshaft and bearings etc., to get you back on the road. It maybe the easiest way forward. Before doing this though, it would be interesting to try and find out if the crankshaft failure you have experienced, is in fact more common than we think with this type BMW engine.
Just a thought and hope you are back on the road again soon, especially after all your troubles of last year.
Regards,
Telfer.

I have Brand new Camshafts for the V8 normally £207 per side.
(Don't ask)
