If that is the same as mine then its the engine shaped indicator. At least it appears in the same place....... Hope its just a self-test glitch......... After all I've just had a complete engine re-build etc etc......

I can't remember how its done either... will have to go and look for the thread....

Not sure if there's any other test you can do but all I did was switch the ignition on to see which light was which as they all light up when you first turn the key, I take it yours has the message centre & you're mystery flash is in the little oblong window

Always check with a T4 or code reader just in case.

The diagnoistic test menu link is here http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...1&postcount=32

I used to have a focus which used to quickly flash on & off (trip switch & odometer) but only ever caught it out of the corner of my eye. It used to drive me crazy but did actually catch it doing it once. Never found the reason behind it or ever stopped it either. Just one of those annoying little features.

This is very interesting. I have noticed something along these lines, just a little distraction that I thought was a flash but never saw clearly. And it was always while moving. I have never been able to pinpoint it no matter how hard I tried. It doesn't happen all the time and I have actually just about convinced myself it is a flash of reflection rather than a light coming on. The rake of the windscreen and position of the dash does allow more light to get on the dash than previous cars I can remember. This is also apparent when I stick my satnav on the windscreen as I get a lot of reflection from it. My recollection is that it only happens in reasonably bright conditions and when I do notice it I always seem to have just passed under a bridge or by a tall object. Does anyone else think this might account for it?

I have noticed what appears to be a flash bottom right hand corner of the display, but then realised it was caused by the sweep of the wiper arm in wet weather.

Mine's bottom left.

Have put on a reader but nothing shows, (what errors do show upwhen on a test bench? Rhetorical)

I'm glad I'm not alone

Guess it's just one of things......

Full screenwash - always maintain it with all the muck on the roads around here

Besides cleaned it up a few months back, and it's been doing it since before, well, everything
