Default Water in wheel well

I do not know why....???? For all the time I've had my car, I've had a certain amount of water in the wheel well..... from where I don't know as there are no visible signs of entry.... and I have looked for them.

After washing the car with copious amount of water (and pressure wash), and keeping a wary eye on the plenums )) I have NO water in the wheel well ????

All I've done differently from before is clean all the rubber seals with Autosol This product is meant to revitalise rubbers etc... Could this be the simple solution

Cleaning the rubber seals David does in fact increase help to repel water getting past the rubber (probably to do with "surface tension" etc)
Most effective on Sunroof Seals too.

The number of times I've seen Main agent quotes for new Sunroof assemblies when a simple clean & application of a product would suffice.

Other products good for rubber:
Glycerine (don't see this much these days) Thick clear liquid.......... Chemists?
Silicone spray grease.
Antistatic cleaner by RS etc.

Thanks for that reply, As for sunroofs, when I pressure washed the car, I ended up with water dripping through the sunroof switch!!

Mind you I did do the pressure washing on full, lots of green stuff to get rid of..... Maybe over did it.... At the moment too afraid to actually open the sunroof...... During the recent hard frost, accidentally hit the open button... did not realise it until I got a whiff of burning out electrics!!! Now in a state of confusion.... do I try to open the sunroof or not? Or, as I normally never use it, do I leave well alone?

Don't know if this info will help much but my previous car was a Rover 418 SLD with an electric sunroof.
Water used to collect in the drivers footwell, deep enough for me to consider stocking it with goldfish! I found a Rover bulletin that put this down to the sunroof drains being blocked.Funnily enough the passenger footwell remained bone dry, however when a new aerial was fitted the rubber grommet for the wiring from the inner wing to the door had become displaced and water penetrated that way. Most of the problem was sorted after the grommet was re-fitted and the drain channel were also rodded with a stiff wire.

Default Update

Sun-roof A OK Sigh of relief

Took a bit of time to get the guts to do it though

Never use it anyway As I tend to drive with the driver's window open anyway - being a smoker - hence the wind guards

This car will - hopefully last me to the end of it's life. Which, let's face it, has been reprieved, at great cost, three times now!!

It's my car, it's my life... it's called voluntary euthanasia. Either I die first or the car does. Whichever, I will not want another car other than the 75 !!

The driver's window is open and I do carry an air-freshener for the wimps who cannot accept my life-style....
