Default Help with aftermarket stereo

I fitted an Amazon single din to Farage today, removing the Kenwood unit as the new one has hands free / bluetooth etc. The Kenwood was working fine when I took it out but when I connected the new one it wouldn't power up. The manual suggested connecting the yellow wire to the red one, which I did and it powered up. However, the unit has no memory when I switch the car off and the clock, radio stations etc would have to be reset every time. The manual also states later on on the FAQ the yellow needs to be connected to the positive pole of the battery and should not (!) be twisted with the red one as it will have no memory. Can anyone assist?

Also I lost the aerial cable in there somewhere, where does it originate?

Cheers

Yeah so I'm thinking the same - I'm connecting the yellow wire to the wrong wire on the original loom - the Kenwood terminals must be different to this one. Does anyone know which wire is permanently live on the original loom? Cheers

Thinking about it I can test them with my multimeter ...

There's no permanent live on the original grey plug that I can detect anyway

I'll check the fuse tomorrow

In the car's ISO connector, the Light Green/White cable in pin 7 is ignition live, the Purple/Pink cable in pin 4 is battery live.

Checked the green / white wire no fees. Checked fuse 11 it's fine so not sure what has happened. Can I tap into the lighter socket?

If it's a permanent live i would think so but just to be on the safe side i would put an inline fuse on it

Panic over I checked the wrong fuse! The correct one is number 33 which had blown - replaced it and it's now working. Thanks everyone. I learned a few things!
