Front shock compatability - 1.8 on a diesel
I'm looking to change the front shock on my diesel. Rimmers have the whole assembly available which is tempting as it would avoid the battle with the spring. However, its listed as being for the 1.8. I guess its just the spring rate that is different. Given everyone else just stocks one spring these days does it make much difference?

The shocks and springs are different for the CDT and 1.8K. I'm not aware of any reputable company selling one type for both cars.
You can check the parts numbers in Sachs or Monroe online catalogues. Or just check on the EuroCarParts website.
