NATIONAL MEET 18th Oct. 2009
The Club Team are pleased to announce the next .National Meet Ferry Meadows Nene Park Peterborough PE2 5UU Sunday 18th October 2009 from 10.30 to 5.30 Entrance Fee £8.00 per car. Click on the link below to register and pay your entrance fee. Price is per car not the number of occupants NB: We will not be issuing tickets either by post or by email despite any emails or instructions from the Club Shop to the contrary. The Club Team will have a complete list of those that have paid, your name will be checked against the list at the gate. Any members coming on the spur of the moment, please have the correct change £ 8.00 per car ready. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/register/ Café, Restaurant and Bar There are two cafes in Ferry Meadows offering a range of refreshments and light meals. The Visitor Centre Café. Hot and cold snacks and beverages. Lakeside Cafe. Terraced restaurant and licensed Bar at the Watersports Centre. The Water Sports centre is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main parking area. Ferry Meadows Miniature Railway Ham Lane Station is located adjacent to the meeting rooms hired by the club. All charges are separate from the National Meet entrance fee. This a fair weather train as can be seen in the picture. Click on the pic Play areas for our younger members There are three well equipped play areas that are maintained to the highest standards. The one near the Visitor Centre Café being specifically for younger children. Caravanning & Camping One of the Caravan Club's most popular sites is at Ferry Meadows. It is open all year round and welcomes caravanners and campers. It is open to non-members. For information about the Caravan Club and the site go to:- http://tinyurl.com/lpobsa Bookings for caravan or camping must be made by yourselves. This is completely separate from the National Meet entrance fee. Cycling Explore the many miles of lakeside and woodland footpaths/cycle ways. Link with the City-wide network and provide easy access to and from the City. Bring your own bikes or hire them from the Watersports Centre Dog Walking, Bring your own or borrow one from a friend. Dogs are permitted in the Park providing they are kept under close control. Responsible dog owners help us to keep the central area of Ferry Meadows clean and pleasant for all visitors by cleaning up their dogs' mess and using the dog bins provided. Barbecues There are permanent barbecue stands near the coach park and the Watersports Centre car park in Ferry Meadows. There is no charge for their use and they are not bookable, bring your own charcoal and utensils. You may bring your own barbecue provided that it is off the ground. Please take care; the grass in summer and autumn can be very dry and burn easily. Nene Valley Railway The railway runs along the perimeter of the park. The nearest station is 5 minutes walk from the parking area. Trains to and from Peterborough and Wansford. Timetable and general information We have secured the covered area and adjacent rooms near to the Vistor Centre, in case of inclement weather. Open all day Gate open at 10.30, meet ending 17.30, the park remains open until dusk. Approximately 14.00 Announcements and Raffle will be held either at one of the clubs Gazebos or in the covered area depending on weather. Kandyman has worked his usual magic and located a hotel within a few hundred yards of the park entrance. Bring family and friends - this is a social event so the more the merrier! By all means clean and polish your car Enjoy yourselves and help support your club at the same time Don'ts Please try not to arrive before 10.30 if possible, the entry route is single lane and we do not want to inconvenience other park users by blocking the road. Speed limit within the Park 15 MPH...... Speed limit from the ticket control booth to parking spot 5 MPH........ Vehicles must not be left unattended with bonnets open....... No revving of engines whilst parked in the display area...... Please don't bring items for sale without prior arrangement....... This is a public park and as such we may have the public wandering through the display area, please lock your cars if left unattended.
