THis might well be unpopular
Click here to see another way to harass the poor old motorist.
I can see this becoming a licence to print money for cyclists and pedestrians |

Who in their right mind would consider this move a way to get motorists out of their cars and onto bikes?
"Ministers!" well, might have known it. |

What a load of NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-.
If you hit them by their own negligence, and get blamed for it, make sure they can't get up to report It!! |

Having cycled many many thousands of miles on British roads I blame 99.9% of accidents on motorists however this rule is pointless.
Suddenly you will have people throwing themselves in front of cars in the hope to get some money.

I foresee insurance premiums going through the roof if this is ever implemented.

Having been in the position of apportioning liability in disputed cases or where liability was accepted, on many occasions and I expect many more in the future, I'd set the figure at 60% motorist at fault in vehicle / cycle accidents Steven.

So...to follow this logic through...if I have a 75 with terminal HGF imminent, then I can drive it into the side of a stationary ('more powerful') lorry hard enough to wreck the car...and the nice lorry driver's insurance will buy me a new car.....
