Diesel front crash beam torque setting
I cant find it in the Haynes manual, what is the diesel front crash beam torque setting? This is the 8 bolts connecting the aluminium crash beam to the chassis.

No idea about the Haynes manual, i use RAVE or Autodata to look them up. The torque setting surprised me as well when i first came across it!

Probably why a lot of cars suffer from front end droop then
10.9 M8 can e tightened to 34Nm before the bolt begins to deform, and 8.8 M8 20NM So the Rave figure sounds about right Brian |

Make sure it's at its highest point when you tighten the bolts or like Brian says, it will suffer serious droop, and look like the bumper is falling off.

I filed the lower edge of the holes on my armature to a more oval shape. That gives you a couple more millimetres to lift it and bolt up. This reduces the bumper-bonnet shut line. It's worth doing when you've already got it off.
