I have a manual CDT saloon, 2001, which has done 137,000 miles. Its recently had a new MAF sensor and a service. It has also had a 160 remap. The torque is immense, and I can drive around happily on little more than tick-over if I want. On a motorway run at 70-ish mph it will return an indicated 57.6, and commuting in heavy motorway traffic I get 50.4 on the computer.
It is an absolute joy to drive, and since I had a new clutch has lightened the pedal, having a manual is no hardship at all.

diff cars diff consumption
My first rover 75cdt auto gave 52mpg on motor way measured to brim.
Had 195,000 miles on clock when I bought it Sold it and still regret it. It is still alive and kicking as still regularly get speeding fines for it lol My 2004 auto cdti on same roads only gives 42mpg. Put new Toyo tyres new alloys changed brakes etc still same. No idea why mpg on this one is so bad by comparison but it looks so much better |
