Front Damper Mount
Had a looksee on Rimmers at the front top mount on the suspension.
Genuine one number RNX100081 shows the mount on it's own with the bearing number RNR100060 separate. After market one number RNX100081P seems to include the bearing with it. Question. Why should I pay £59 odd for a top mount and bearing when an after market ones comes in at less than half that price. I'm thinking if Rimmers have it on there site then the quality of the product should be ok shouldn't it?

Just had a thought.
Yes I know it's dangerous for me to do that but:- If the mount is ok then why not just change the bearing? After all it's the bearing what is making the noise the MOT man didn't like.

Just changing the bearing will be fine, if as you say the mount is ok.

Front Damper Mount
Maybe worth looking on DMGR site. They have the mounts and the bearing packs

Now the MOT man advised:-
N/S/F Top Mount Rough when turning wheel. Please correct me if I'm wrong but me thinks he's talking about the bearing and nothing else.

I've just changed the bearings on mine using SNR bearings.
They were about £12 per side, and there was nothing wrong with the rubber mounting, I simply gave it a wire brush and a lick of paint before I fitted the new springs. https://www.gsfcarparts.com/457ro001...iABEgINmPD_BwE |
