Default help needed

Hi, we have a Rover 75 and recently found it had flooded inside the boot and cabin. We have been busy silicone sealing the usual culprits and checked the plenums and are now waiting for some rain to see if we have stopped most of the water coming in. The back seats etc are out and have dried but we want to try and lift the carpet in the rear footwells to try and dry out the foam backing a bit. However we are having trouble working out how to get a piece of plastic off so we can lift the carpet. Can anyone advise the best way to remove the black plastic strip that is across the door threshold on the rear of the saloon? Thanks in advance.

I cant recall but it slides forwards or backwards. You may need to lift the rubber away around the door entrance, sorry I cant remember

Tap it forwards or backwards, depending on how it was fitted originally. There's a slot in them which slides over a plastic clip. If you break the clips don't worry, plenty about.

Hi Anne.
Try this out below, do you have a sunroof by the way in your car?

From the rear near passengers side first remove the carpet kicker by sliding it to the front of the car, OS driver side rear push to the rear on the car Fig 12-13
12

13

Now pull away the rubber door seal from the bottom and half way up the door frame Fig 14
14

Next pull out the bottom of the side panel gently it just clips into the frame Fig 15
15

Now with the door card removal tool take out the black centre carpet plug if you do not have this tool use a wide flat ended screwdriver Fig 16
16

Now go round to the drivers side and repeat the process from figs 12 to 16
17

Not forgetting the side panel must be unclipped at the bottom Fig 18
18

You must now peel the carpet from under the side panel as far as the seat belt anchor do this both sides Fig 19

Thumbs up

Hi Arctic, thanks for your reply and the pictures, they will really be helpful in getting the carpet lifted. No we don't have a sunroof by the way.
