Strange PC Behaviour
This one for the X-Files:
Ok so PC boots up to a blank blue screen, nothing further happens. But pressing control Alt & Del brings up the Task Manger pane, from here I can launch IE and get to the internet. Initially the PC would not even boot up, then I could get to Safe Mode, then I lost that and now I have just the blue screen. But can get to see contents of just my C drive but not my D drive. Help any one got any ideas what I can do or what I should be thinking of doing. Cheers, All. |

What Op sys are you on? If XP, try to get into safe mode-- then use System restore, that may sort it..
If you cant get into safe mode- then go to prog/acces/system tools/ system restore.. the result should be the same either way . Last edited by James.uk; 31st December 2008 at 17:15.. |

PC behaviour
Hi James,
Thanks for the reply, I am using Windows XP pro, I tried restore last night but it would not function. I also tried doing it from Safe Mode same effect. However, I have not tried it tonight. I may try it now as the computer is working more than it was last night. At least I can get to the internet tonight. I will log off the site and try the restore function and log on and let you know if it worked or not. Cheers, Andy |

Hi Andy, if all else fails it may be worth booting into your WinXP CD and selecting "repair" ??
