Powerfold vs Normal Switchpack
Thought you guys might find this useful...
Powerfold is always on the left Dismantled (note the fact that the inside button holder is common between both, both have a hole for the powerfold button) Button membrane (notice - exactly the same) Top side of the PCB (notice the powerfold has the extra LED for the button) - uber hi res Bottom side of the PCB (notice the extra relay, and the few resistors below) - uber hi res Interestingly they look very similar... wondering if it's possible to "convert" the PCB's? |

I'm pretty sure BigRuss looked into this, and the cost of parts and time to convert one wasn't really worth it.

I have converted one of these and between Messenger and myself were going to setup a small production line if there is sufficient demand. Costs should be less than £25 (with your old switchpack in part-ex)
The costs are 90% labour as it took me quite a while to do a neat job. Maybe with practice I will be quicker and the price will fall. I used the small button from the rear window isolation switch for the powerfold function. It even lights up! Photos will follow. |
