Default War of the Worlds.. shivers down your spine....

Hi Folks I would like to know if anyone can recomend some decent music....the kind of which makes the hairs on your kneck stand up, sends shivers down your spine ...or brings tears to your eyes...

I was listening to War of the Worlds on the M5 northbound yesterday, with Richard Burton...and the track 'Thunderchild' came on....my god...shivers ran up and down my spine and I could picture the whole scene....just brilliant!

Another one I can recomend is a little known band from the 80s...called Thunder...on their first Album was a track called...
'the last thing she said..was goodbye' mind blowing track.

Any others?

There's quite a few tracks by a Finnish band called Sonata Arctica that do this for me!

(sits back to see if anyone has heard of them..........)

Also, and Gill finds this hilarious, "Amazing Grace" as performed by the Scots Dragoon Guards - the bit where they all join in after the lone piper has done his bit.....

(oh, and the theme from "Braveheart")

Thats exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about.....Jools Holland was on the Radio the other day I,ve no Idea what the track was but it immediately put My heart racing...fast and cheerfull Pianos, trumpets and stuff like that..... I also get shivers when they play the Last stand at Military displays...Grandad used to play it for us on his old millitary Bugle when we were kids.

I'm a big Jools Holland fan - seen him about 7 times live! (Do a Google on "Jooligans" if you fancy joining a select band of folks who started off talking about Jools - and Sam Brown - but now talk about anything and everything!)

Better not then - don't want to be blubbing in the cinema!

Here's some more:-

"In The Rain" - Sam Brown

"Power Of One" - Sonata Arctica

"The End Of This Chapter" - Sonata Arctica

"Swanheart" - Nightwish

"Destiny" - Stratovarius

"Abandoned" - Ensiferum

"The Place In Your Heart" - Journey

"A Better Life" - Journey

"All The Way" - Journey

"Doomsday" - Murray Gold

The last one is from the last episode of the last series of Dr Who (where Rose got stuck on the other side of the "wall" separating two universes....)

Oooh, Loreena McKennitt - forgotten about her!

"Prospero's Speech" is almost scary in it's ability to raise the hairs on your neck!
